Édouard Vaumort ( - )
Édouard Vaumort was a 19th-century French artist, renowned for his talents as a painter and illustrator. Vaumort worked as an earthenware painter for his brother Jean, an earthenware manufacturer in Rennes. From 1877 onwards, he regularly sent works painted on earthenware illustrating Brittany and the Charente to the Parisian Salons.
He also collaborated on the illustrations for Henri Martin's ‘Histoire de France’ in 1886, contributing historical scenes such as La mort de Roland and La Jacquerie.
Although information on his life is limited, Édouard Vaumort's artistic contributions, particularly in historical illustration and the painting of cultural scenes, bear witness to his talent and commitment to the artistic landscape of the 19th century.
