Xavier de Langlais

Xavier de Langlais was born in Sarzeau. He studied successively at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nantes (1922-1926) and in Paris (1926-1928). Painter, writer and drawing teacher at the Beaux-Arts de Rennes, Xavier de Langlais devoted his life to art and Brittany. His pictorial work is varied: religious and secular. His written work, rewarded by the Académie Française for the novel King Arthur, also includes poetry, the novel of anticipation and the technique of oil painting.
