Georges Dargouge is a complete painter, with a reporter's temperament when he becomes official painter of the Army in 1959. A professor at the École Polytechnique for 20 years, he loved teaching above all else in his studio on rue Bartholdi in Paris. He painted scenes from the life of fishermen in Brittany, but also procession scenes, again practising his profession as a true reporter.
