Henri Barnoin

Born in Paris, he was a pupil of Luc-Olivier MERSON, but he owes his taste for anecdotal landscapes to Emile DAMERON, his second master, which he generally animates with crowds of peasants, fishermen and boats, markets, rocky coasts and processions, is the whole repertoire of Brittany's folklore which nourishes his work. Since 1909 he has exhibited seascapes and watercolour views of Paris at the Salon. A work which, in its serenity and its well assured technique, is the faithful mirror of the painter's fervour for Breton daily life.
