Lucien Fournet (1902 - 1975)

Lucien Fournet was a 20th-century French painter, best known for his seascapes and harbour views. His work reflects a deep attachment to the French coastline, particularly Brittany and the Atlantic coast, where he sensitively depicts sailing boats, fishing harbours and seaside scenes.

Working mainly in oils, Lucien Fournet favoured a figurative style, characterised by a luminous palette and a supple brushstroke that captures the play of light on the water and the atmosphere of the coastline.
