A French painter born in Langres, Léon Bellemont trained in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts in Léon Bonnat's studio. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1896 onwards, where he received several distinctions, including a medal in 1905 and Hors-Concours status in 1925.
His work, influenced by realism and impressionism, is distinguished by his landscapes and seascapes, notably inspired by Brittany, as well as his scenes of everyday life and popular traditions. Some of his works are held in public collections, including the Locronan Art Museum.
