Paul Morchain ( - )
A naval painter appointed in 1921, Paul Morchain became a regular visitor to Douarnenez and its region. He established himself as a major painter of the Cornish countryside. His style is in the tradition of those local painters who seek the truth and atmosphere of local life with sincerity and which recalls the approach and style of the Pont-Aven painters.
His works are in many museums in France, notably in Paris (Musée de la Marine), Bordeaux, Rochefort-sur-Mer and Douarnenez.
