In this masterful painting, The Menhir of La Pierre Longue, near Puigaudeau, invites us to an almost mystical contemplation. The ancient stone, standing in the heart of a sun-drenched landscape, seems to watch over timeless Brittany. Some perceive the veiled silhouette of a Virgin and Child seen from behind, a sacred presence concealed within the stone, where the mystery of the spiritual merges with that of nature.
