Polychrome earthenware. Gavotte subject. Circa 1930. Restoration to one leg. No signature of the factory.

Jim Sévellec created three series of small subjects for Henriot illustrating a wedding, a pardon and a folk festival called "la gavotte". To complete the set, he created houses, a refreshment stall and a church, all in earthenware, to set these characters in a small village. This idea no doubt came to him as a result of his work on the lively dioramas produced for the Tanguy Tower, showing the bustle of his native Brest before the war.
