A Nevers spun glass and polychromed wood passion bottle with altar decoration. Middle 19th century. Crack on the neck.

The first known passion bottles date from the middle of the 18th century. They often represent episodes from the life of Christ, but also masses and weddings. We know the boats in bottle less the votive bottles, expression of the religious devotion of the boatmen.
